I’m Mike Hewlett: an independent creative writer, strategist and director. I'm a writer, social media junkie, film scripter, strategist, pop-culture fiend, solo artist and team player. With a strong pedigree in brand communications (across integrated and retail), I specialise in strategic thinking, creative problem solving and brand storytelling to deliver innovative and inspiring ideas... and results.
Where the best ideas begin
I've held senior roles at leading creative agencies including Imagination and Ted Baker, and worked for brands as diverse as Aston Martin, Diageo, Coca-Cola, Astra Zeneca and London Underground. I now offer in-house insights, agency know-how and a proven track record at distilling complex briefs into smart, successful campaigns and experiences as Inkling Creative Ltd. So what do you do?
I act as a consultant, working with ambitious agencies and brands in need of creative support. For some, I work as a strategic thinker and creative copywriter, bringing objectivity and clarity to a brief or business challenge. And for others, I integrate with (or direct) existing teams to articulate and deliver compelling, attention-grabbing ideas, stories and insights. Overall, I offer a genuinely hybrid skill set (retail & experiential, physical and digital, strategic & creative, journalism & storytelling) and bring my experience and expertise to craft smart, creative solutions.
